Working with Teddy Bear Nurseries

We are known as a nursery who values, invests, and empowers our staff. This reputation has helped us attract and recruit the best quality and committed teaching staff to deliver the very best in child care education since 2008.

Each of our staff members is highly valued and is given the opportunity to develop and broaden their knowledge and skills in caring for children.

Teacher trainee program

The Teddy Bear Nurseries Teacher Trainee Program has been designed to support enthusiastic individuals who have the passion and desire to become an early year educator.

When enrolled in the program, our trainee teachers are allocated a mentor teacher at the nursery who will help guide them through their journey towards becoming a teacher. The program allows the trainees to gain classroom experience, whilst studying towards the qualifications needed to become an early years teacher.

Professional development

We believe that personal and professional development is essential to ensuring the high-quality care and education of young children that we are proud to provide at Teddy Bear Nurseries.

We strongly promote and facilitate a positive professional learning culture within our nursery and encourage our staff to continually invest in their child care knowledge. We do this through staff coaching and offering encouragement and support to achieve a high level of morale and motivation.

We have also developed training plans that support further qualifications and continuous professional development for our staff.

I started my Teddy Bear Nurseries journey as a parent when I was a brand new arrival to Abu Dhabi with my two young daughters. From the moment I visited the nursery I felt like I had been welcomed home. The whole team made us feel welcome and safe and they were flexible and supportive as I tried to balance a new job and young children in a new country. Fast forward one year and I was delighted to take a job with the nursery where I joined as the child health coordinator to support parents and children. In this role I came to understand the true Teddy Bear spirit where children’s well-being is first and foremost. I advanced to manager and principal for another six years where I mentored the team to become the same caring and enthusiastic team that I had come to love. Teddy Bear Nurseries is a true delight and if you are looking for a nursery where child health, development and play are important to you then I can’t recommend Teddy Bear Nurseries enough. I’m now back in Australia and both my girls still talk about their Teddy Bear Nurseries days with pure delight. I loved the nursery as a parent and a staff member and despite being 1,000s of kilometers away, I still love and treasure my days working there.

Michelle Hickson

I first joined Teddy Bear Nurseries as a Teddy 2 teacher when my youngest son was just eight months old and joining the Teddy 1 class. With the support of the Teddy Bear family, I have been able to progress my career to become a Teddy 3 teacher, and the branch manager of the MBZ nurseries.
