The Whole Child approach

Our whole-child approach to teaching nurtures all areas of children’s development and learning to prepare them for success in both school and life.
From social–emotional and cognitive skills, to literacy, math, science, and understanding, our whole-child approach fully prepares and supports each child’s transition from preschool to kindergarten and beyond.
At Teddy Bear Nursery, we strongly believe that a child’s experience at nursery should include language and literacy competence and math and science understanding, as well as a keen focus on physical well-being and social-emotional development. Our whole-child approach allows us the unique opportunity to develop and shape children’s social-emotional skills, as well as nurturing their critical thinking skills, which helps them to become creative and confident learners.
Our qualified teachers are committed to the whole-child teaching approach in the classroom and encourage independence in each child. This is done through engaging and meaningful activities and hands-on experiences where they get to make their own choices about learning. This is how we nurture each child’s personality, whilst allowing them to embrace their own inquisitiveness, creativity, and curiosity.
Our whole-child approach incorporates both academic achievements, as well as the skills and knowledge that all children need to develop for long-term success. At Teddy Bear Nursery we take great pride in watching our Teddies grow and become excited and engaged lifelong learners, who go on to become respectful members of the community and future citizens for the world.
Our Meddy Teddy yoga for kids is a fun and interactive way to help improve and grow children’s minds, spirits, emotions, and thoughts.
As well as promoting a healthy lifestyle and healthy habits from a young age, our Meddy Teddy yoga sessions allow children to become in tune with their bodies and helps them to understand the importance of a healthy body and mind.
The Arts remain a strong feature in our Creative Curriculum which we teach through learning and play to encourage the development of children’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, as well as strength, balance, agility, and self-expression. Our Teddy’s Expressive Arts Program helps children learn social skills in a stimulating environment that encourages them to express their creative talents, whilst developing their confidence.
The SmartTeddy™ STEM Program has been designed to develop children’s cognitive and social skills through computational thinking, higher-order thinking, and executive functioning skills by introducing technology tools, robotics, and coding at an appropriate age. These skills help children reason, think critically, and problem solve, and help us to prepare them for life in a technological future.
Our SmartTeddy™ STEM Program includes a number of play experiences such as problem-solving, collaborating, and designing in a digital environment, which helps children learn how to be innovate and think through complex problems.
