The Whole Child approach
Home • Our Approach • The Whole Child approach
The whole-child approach to teaching and learning, implemented in Teddy Bear Nurseries, enables us to support all areas of children’s development while considering each child’s likes, dislikes and individual needs.
By implementing this approach, we can guide children through developmentally appropriate activities that reflect their individual learning journeys. This method fosters confidence and independence as they transition to the next stage of their learning journey.
At Teddy Bear Nursery, we strongly believe that a child’s experience should prioritize the development of social and emotional well-being. We also emphasize physical well-being as an integral part of their growth. The whole-child approach we implement offers a unique opportunity to nurture children’s social-emotional skills while helping them become confident, independent learners.
Our little teddies can explore a world of exciting extra-curricular activities, right here at Teddy Bear Nurseries. With the help of trusted external partners, we bring enriching and convenient sessions directly to the nursery, creating joyful learning moments during the day. This allows families to spend quality time together beyond nursery hours, knowing their children are thriving in a fun and familiar environment.
The Arts are introduced to children through child-led learning and play to encourage the development of children’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, strength, balance, agility, and self-expression. Expressive Arts helps children learn social skills in a stimulating environment that encourages them to express their creative talents, whilst developing their confidence.
The Teddy Bear Nurseries Smart Teddy activities are implemented to support the development of children’s cognitive and social skills through higher-order thinking, and executive functioning skills by introducing technology tools, robotics, and coding at an appropriate age. These skills help children reason, think critically, and problem solve, and help us to prepare them for life in a technological future.
