Teddy care – Infants

Our Teddy Care program allows us to nurture and care for your baby whilst ensuring all their personal care needs are met. Our Teddy Care infant rooms have been designed to support your child’s development as they grow from tiny babies to confident crawlers with inquisitive minds. The environment provides a careful balance of sensory stimulation and a calm, nurturing environment that enables our youngest Teddies to feel safe and secure in the arms of our specialist staff. Your child’s routine is carefully followed by our team and feeds, diaper changes, and your child’s well-being are all monitored and documented throughout the day.

We understand that your baby is precious and vulnerable and our dedicated nursery nurse makes scheduled visits to the Teddy Care room to monitor your child, in addition to the continuous supervision and interactions from our Teddy Care staff.

Our Teddy Care infant rooms provide a stimulating learning environment with scheduled tummy time, sensory activities, and music and song time, and our Teddy Care team interact with your child through speech, singing, and playtime throughout the day. Our infant rooms also include a secure cushioned activity area so children can explore safely as they roll, shuffle and begin to crawl, as well as stimulating toys and a sensory light area. The rooms are fully equipped with support equipment such as baby chairs, bouncers, and activity tables too.

Teddy 1 – Younger toddlers

Every toddler needs a great deal of physical and emotional care and in our Teddy 1 class we nurture children with cuddles and praise in a clean, safe and friendly environment.

We encourage each child as they approach key milestones in their independence such as feeding themselves, learning to keep their balance, and improving their walking, running, and climbing ability. We respect each child’s growth and development pace and understand that each child is an individual with their own developmental needs.

Activities in our Teddy 1 class include sensory fun, creative and construction activities, music and singing, and outdoor play. The classrooms are equipped with a wide range of educational and stimulating toys that help children strengthen their fine and gross motor skills and support their cognitive and physical development.

We also have a designated personal care area for milk and meal preparation, sterile changing facilities, and a quiet sleeping area for nap times.

Teddy 2 – Older toddlers

Our Teddy 2 program provides a healthy balance of nurturing our Teddys, alongside playtime and learning throughout the day.

Each week, the academic focus of the curriculum changes to allow the children to absorb, learn, and enjoy an array of different topics and development opportunities. Our monthly classroom themes keep the learning activities varied and feature interest areas where children are invited to explore and investigate further into a range of topics. We focus on communication and language development through listening, speaking, storytelling and role play activities and children learn about numbers, patterns, shapes, and routine through daily teacher and child led activities and play opportunities.

2-3 years

An important developmental stage for our Teddy 2 children is helping them to explore their new found, and still developing, language, co-ordination, and physical skills. We also help them with toilet training, eating independently, and dressing. Our teachers support children through this transition and help build the language foundations for them to communicate their needs.

Teddy 3 – Preschoolers

The Teddy 3 program provides an exciting and gentle introduction to the schedules and routines that children will face in the future when they go on to kindergarten. The gradual implementation of class leaders, Arabic classes and small and large group learning begins to extend your child’s learning, while still incorporating the safe and nurturing environment of early years education.

Teddy 4 – Pre-K

With school readiness in mind, our Teddy 4 classrooms reflect the routines and more advanced learning that you will find in Pre-K classrooms. Our progressive learning activities and academically focused interest areas mean that children can embrace a more challenging environment, while still enjoying the comfort of the familiar Teddy Bear Nurseries surroundings.

As children move through the year, structured pre-reading, math, and writing skills are introduced to extend their learning beyond preschool and as they are challenged, our supporting staff are on hand to ensure that their social-emotional skills are not forgotten. Nurturing children’s social-emotional skills remains of great importance to us as they transition between nursery and school, and we help them to understand and communicate their wants and needs, as well as building confidence in their newly found abilities. Our School Readiness Program helps us with fine tuning children’s communication skills, understanding, and critical thinking.

4+ years

The nursery’s monthly thematic units are tackled with more intensity in our Teddy 4 classes to encourage further cognitive development. We make the routine more prominent in the daily schedule by incorporating job roles such as line leader, lunch monitor, and buddy systems.
