Older babies are becoming more aware of their surroundings, and they’re starting to explore the world around them. They might be more mobile, crawling or even walking, and they’re beginning to show preferences for toys, activities, and people.
At this age, separation anxiety can start to kick in. Your baby is more aware when you’re not around, and this can lead to tears when you leave them at the Early Learning Center. One of the best strategies to ease this anxiety is to make their Early Learning Center caregivers feel familiar to them. If possible, introduce them to the caregivers slowly and try to have the same person looking after them each day.
By this age, many babies have a favorite toy or blanket that brings them comfort. Ensure they take this item with them to the Early Learning Center. It can serve as a security blanket, helping them feel more comfortable when you’re not there.
Babies thrive on consistency. Create a quick, loving goodbye ritual that you use every time you drop your baby off. Whether it’s a kiss, a hug, or a wave, this predictable routine will help them know what to expect and will gradually make goodbyes easier.
It’s normal for babies to cry when they’re first left at an Early Learning Center, but most babies settle down shortly after their parents leave. Trust the Early Learning Center staff to soothe your baby and give your little one the time they need to adjust to their new environment. Explore our Teddy Care Rooms
